Re: [CoD2]jm_renaissance
as always i read lots of posts and none of them was commenting the map
here's 1 opinion
the idea and the deisgn of the map are really good but a map with no models just can't be as good as if it had some.
it just doesnt look realisitc
i really like what i see in the screens but it's so "rectangular"
USE some models, the stock street lamps will fit good, place some trees and other details!!!!
I dont believe that thing with servers crashing if your map has models (Then why servers dont crash with other maps? or problem with the server itself maybe? )
I dont like the sky texture, i think the 1 from el alamein will look better (ye, i've used this skytexture for my map but i dont think it fits here)
use some more decals on the outside walls of buildings
place the lights at the right places, not just everywhere, the good lighting is a very important part of the map
overall the design is very good so far
i hope i'll test it soon

Re: [CoD2]jm_renaissance
ohh decals, lights, sky <- I usually make them when my map is complete. Rectangularing - > I knoow :S I haven't good fantasy for this part, but when the map is ready I'll fix some of them. Some days ago I saw some other maps, and real life houses playces
Now I have a lot's of ideas to make my map more realistic
Ok I'll try models, but jm_lost is crashes our servers if we want to run the modelled edition :S. And if our servers with the new mods crash, so no reason to finish my maps...
