New record - 260 jump

Thats correct, thanks neon. 333 is shit for jumping far(unless diagonally), i dont think it is possible with 333 imo, it feels like you're gonna make it, then you just kinda stop i've done the gap on s-o-b only once with 333. Try it yourself on my map, you wont get far unless you crouch jump, as it is the perfect height for 125fps.Neon wrote:i didnt watch it, but if he did it on the map he made, you cant use 333. You hit the ceiling

Are you going to give us the demo and/or detailed explanation of this new technique? All joking aside, I am very keen to learn how you do it. If you were to post something, we could all have a look and quiz you via the forum for any further explantions - you certainly make it look easy - although I suspect it is not.

bit too busy mapping atm for the competition, might try to put a tut together when i got the time.
A quick explanation would be, I start at a 90(ish) degree angle, and move off just using w and keeping almost parallel with the platform, but fairly close to the edge as you can see in my demo..then swing the mouse around to or between 11 and 12 oclock, hit the strafe key(a) at roughly the same time and hit jump(space bar) as late as you can, and I keep the strafe key held down the whole time..if you try this and you drift off to the right a lot, then you're timing it wrong, and the speed you flick the mouse is important aswell as when you use the strafe key.
When you get the technique right, you're basically getting the maximum transfer of speed to go in the direction you're jumping, but the key is in the timing of the jump, you'll just know when you get the balance right, but it aint as easy as it looks lol.
