Although he is in a way correct. Logic puzzles should never use numbers to represent other numbers.

Although he is in a way correct. Logic puzzles should never use numbers to represent other numbers.
From my point of view, he stated an obvious and, under the conditions, wrong answer to the puzzle. Of course something such as this shouldn't use regularly used numbers and signs instead of letters and symbols, but that doesn't excuse his blatant disregard for a somewhat higher level of thought used to solve this puzzle.

1@2 = 3
etc...

what is 6@11?

using some other symbol such as + which makes the problem very confusing.

because you suggested this as a MATHS puzzle, and the word 'if', I can simply ignore all LOGIC.

If
5+6 = 999
6+4+5 = 2

Because there are no suggestions of logic in place, but we are clearly not following the basic rules of Math, who is to say I cannot just make up any numbers?
