262 jump, or a miscalculation

262 jump, or a miscalculation
after i knew that i was able to jump from Box 1 to Box 2 on mp_jump (see pic)
i wanted to know the distance between Box 1 and Box 2.
i used the console command "/viewpos" to see where i was on the map,
and came up with the numbers you see on the picture. (dont forget to add in the size of your player in to your calculation).
as you can see, the boxes are 160 by 208 units apart.
now i only need to calculate the diagonal distance between Box 1 and Box 2,
by using
A² + B² = C²
25600 + 43264 = 68864
A = 160
B = 208
C = 262.4195115
so by my calculations i am able to jump a good 262 units.
But knowing that i never jumped a gap greater the 255 units
i'm wondering if my calculation are correct.
so here is my question
Can someone please re mesure and recalculate.
And if my calculations are correct,
pleae explain why a diagonal jump carries you further.

Ive tried gettin the coördinats by saving at the edges of the blocks... it turned out. the save mod doesnt count in units...
I measured it all and got to a distance of 235 (save mod coördinats), but i think that is not correct since the biggest of the 'normal' jumps is 195 (which in units is not quite a strafejump :s)

P.S.V. Kampioen!
I think its about right, i made a test map and placed 3 boxes the same distances apart as shown in the pic, then made a brush 262 units long and rotated it so it fit between the 2 corners, and it was almost spot on give or take a unit. and you do seem to travel further diagonally, but i have only made it with 333fps as yet.
