Compiling Error

Post by zNiiC » September 3rd, 2013, 1:06 am

So when i compile my map (bsp), cod4rad.exe stops working when it gets to building light transport for everything. It works for mp_test, but when copying map and adding to mp_test, same thing happens.

Something is wrong with your map.

Most likely a badly shaped brush.
Couldn't tell you without seeing it.

Compile different parts of the map inidividually and see what does/does not compile (i,e brushes, terrain, models).
There is nothing that entirely looks out of place or badly made - I would suggest using "detail brushes" for a lot of the brushes though - although I don't think this is the issue.

So just delete brushes or is there a way to compile certain parts like in hammer?

Easiest thing to do is back up original and overwrite existing. This way you can preserve the skybox, worldspawn & GSCs. You can simply "Save selected" but you would need to create new GSCs, skyboxes etc.

Once you are backed up, delete half the map, if it compiles fine go back to Radiant and Undo, then invert selections and delete again.
