Call of Duty 1 Radiant Loading Screen?

Post by iSprite » August 29th, 2012, 1:23 pm

Hey, i haven't used CoDRadiant for 1 year, i started using it yesterday, because me and my friends are tired of the original Multiplayer maps :D

Well, i have a map, deathmatch_spawns, intermission, and the map works all fine!

But, how do i add a "Loading screen/Thumbnail" to it?

Been trying to put a .gsc file in the mp (in the .pk3) the .gsc looks like this:

main()
{
game["layoutimage"] = "map_thumbnail";
}

Like that, and i added a "levelshots" map, and putted the picture in there
But still, no loading screen;/

Anyone knows what to do?

On cod1 at least, putting in a loading screen image should not require any extra scripting.

In your levelshots folder is where the picture should be located. I don't know what extensions work specifically but all my loading screen pictures have been .dds files. I tend to keep my picture sizes to 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 (multiples of 4), 512x512 would work well also. Make sure the levelshots folder is inside the .pk3 with your other folders and that the loading screen has the name of your map.

Thanks for replying!:P

I've seen on youtube when he made a .dds file, then he used the asset_manager, do i have to download photoshop and the .dds extension?

Thanks

If you wish to save it as a .dds file then that would be recommended. I believe there are a few converters that just straight convert a certain file type to .dds.

I personally use GIMP which is a free photoshop alternative that has a .dds plugin.
