309 gap - need feedback

Post by Enginn » August 9th, 2011, 12:38 am

Just want feedback on my jump, what I can improve, what I'm doing wrong etc. so that I can move on and make the 310+ gaps.

Nothing much really, your technique looks pretty good.

The only thing I changed from 310 onwards was to look almost entirely down at the floor - not only does it mean you're more likely to guarantee fully constant FPS, but I would have thought that it makes your strafe more fluid (in the sense that if you're looking down, you turn quicker when you move your mouse left, so in general it's a lot smoother than if you were to, say, look straight forward and move your mouse.

I could be completely wrong regarding the latter point, but it seems to make sense to me and I did my 317 gap with it.

Your strafing is good...everything is good but try to watch down when you will start to jump
I'll take care of checking whether the music is royalty-free or not

And I would also presume faster, as your turning circle becomes smaller the further you look down.

Indeed, that was also part of my reasoning - you can move your mouse faster / don't need to physically move your hand as much as if you look further up.
