sony vegas fail

Ok I have always used sony vegas but recently I was importing a file and it didnt work? It wouldnt let me import anything and after a while it didnt have any of my saved videos on it? can someone tell me whats happening so i can stop using windows movie maker and video pad. plz??? if u do i willl <3 u forevar

this happens to me from time to time if i try open some files vegas coudnt handle for some reasons. I remember that i had to reinstall the whole thing sometime
