Maybe we won't, maybe we will. From our current perspective of understanding of the universe and our technological level it may seem impossible, however that doesn't mean it is. If you look through the history of mankind we have constantly put down theories that were eventually proven through technology we thought to be impossible (gravity, round world, going to the moon, exceeding 50mph, etc.). Obviously it probably won't happen in our lifetime, but that doesn't make it impossible.
