Bounce jumping tutorial

Bounce jumping (or 'bouncing') is where a player jumps onto a sloped surface and manages to get a boost (in the form of bouncing) from it. The most well-known example of a bounce jump is the Pipeline van bounce jump (see video above). By bouncing, you are able to reach areas of maps which you would not have otherwise been able to access.

As with normal jumping, using specific FPS numbers can improve the bounce (by causing you go bounce heigher and/or further). Setting your max FPS to 125 allows you to jump higher than normal, 250 more so and 333 even more so.

Below are some bounce jump related findings by Drofder:

» Bounce locations must have an angle (from north) between 18 and 38 degrees (the top end of this is disputable and may likely be higher).
» The higher you land on the sloped object, the higher the chance of success.
» What the object is, is irrelevant. You are able to bounce off muddy terrain or brick walls.
» The object is not required to be a model.
» Other than angle, the only other accountable factor is speed. You are required to hit the target fast.
» Hitting the object at a perpendicular angle will result in more efficient bounces.
» It is possible to bounce by hitting the angle at any angle, but the further from the perpendicular the less successful and less efficient the jump becomes (it is possible to drop from heights of above bloc, but usually, the results are a bounce no higher than a players jump).
